Guruvantage History
Unlike all great concepts that are germinated over a pertinent problem statement.
Guruvantage came about as a result of an experience. Coming from an organised training
culture of the defence forces, the founders Aditya and Ankur, could not come to
terms with the disarray plaguing the corporate training industry in the private
sector. The defence machinery of India is nearly 3.46Mn people strong, and it swears
and strives by the high standards of training at all levels and as a continual process.
Training initiatives in the field of defence range from very basic physical courses
to cutting edge technology to Leadership and Command courses. Despite the size and
diversification in the trainee portfolio, the training initiatives are by far very
successful in the forces.

On the other hand, Training and Development initiatives in the private sector while
are striving and thriving, but there is no uniformity to the whole process. For
the same amount of value spent the reciprocal ROI on training is very dissymmetric.
Training in India is more akin to the mom-and-pop retail format in the FMCG industry,
however, even there; the product offering is similar in nature, while the value
of service might differ from one Point-of-sale (POS) to another. It is also noteworthy,
that while the training and development industry in itself is one of the largest
industry sizes in the country, at the same time, it is the single largest most disorganised
industry as well!!
It is with these thoughts that the concept of Guruvantage took shape. Shortly thereafter,
the concept was discussed with the now Chief-mentor, Vikram, who at once realised
the potential of the business case at hand. Being an angel investor and a start-up
mentor, Vikram helped the concept to take wings of action and also invested the
seed amount for the Guruvantage dream to take flight! www.Guruvantage.com was finally
registered and creation of a training ecosystem commenced in full earnest. Over
the period of our journey, we have been fortunate enough to have some the most sought-after
industry stalwarts getting associated with Guruvantage, Chaitanya Pathak, one of
the best technical minds in the country today, is the visionary behind the technical
gradation of Guruvantage.
Soon thereafter, and within a span of a couple of years, Guruvantage is now one
of the largest databanks of registered trainers in the country. We have also had
good press thus far, and have been quoted in various media. The prominent accolade
for Guruvantage was to be named as one of the ‘Top 25 Educational web-startups in
the world’ and more recently a full coverage of the Guruvantage business on CNBC-
Young Turks.

However, the team at Guruvantage is sure that we have so far not even scratched
the surface of a mammoth iceberg. We are gearing up and growing fast both as a brand
and as a product. With a very clear focus of becoming India’s first ‘Training Ecosystem’
where the stakeholders of the Training industry could converge, interact and transact
training trade. A melting-pot for the 5T’s of the Training Ecosystem viz, the Trainee,
the Trainer, the Training Institute, the Training Manager and the Training Vendor,
Guruvantage is now the de-facto top-of-the-mind recall for all training needs and
wants.
